My hearing test yesterday went as expected. I failed. I actually have less of a loss than I thought I did. I have about a 30% loss in each ear. I can't hear high frequencies, and that makes it hard for me to understand speech. I can hear it, kind of. I just can't understand it. To me, most people sound like Charlie Brown's parents. "Wah wah wah."
Blueberry drove my car this weekend and announced that I had blown out my car stereo speakers. So without the benefit of lip reading, I guess I cranked it to high. Shrug....I guess I'll have to buy a new car ;)

Sometimes, when the Vboys are screaming, I wish I couldn't hear high frequencies!
what about a hearing thingy?
would that help?
Yes, I'm trying to qualify for a program to get hearing aids. I have enough of a hearing loss to qualify. I'm waiting to hear back to see if my income level lets me qualify as well.
We'll see. If I don't qualify for the program, I'll probably not get aids for a while. They are incredibly expensive and I can't really afford them and insurance doesn't pay for them. I know that eventually, I'll just have to break down and get them. But right now, I'm making it without them.
